This chapter discusses serious insurgency movements faced by Soviet security and political chiefs. It reports the length of the Soviet Union's borders as the war drew to an end. It also describes the involvement of the Soviet security organs in the internal affairs of the newly formed Soviet bloc countries in Eastern Europe. It shows that the major entering point for spies coming into the Soviet Union was the Chinese border. As a result, Iosif Stalin and the security police tried to block this channel. The chapter finally documents the activities of a terrorist group of doctors and the Doctors' Plot.
