This chapter presents models for cost effectiveness and allocation of HIV prevention resources. It considers two problems: the optimal investment problem and the resource allocation problem. Both problems are approached based on a standard epidemic model. The chapter discusses both exact and approximate solutions to these problems and develops practical guidelines and insights for decision makers.
