Stop the Presses: A Petition for Less Writing
Stop the Presses: A Petition for Less Writing
This chapter calls for less writing or publication of books in the U.S. It explains that even if a person reads 135 books a day, every day, for a year, he would not be able finish all the books published annually in the U.S. and that this amount of publication does not include literary magazines and academic journals. It suggests that the situation leaves many pages untouched, unread, and unknown in libraries and secondhand bookstores around the world.
