A Concerned Critique of Psychoanalytic Education
A Concerned Critique of Psychoanalytic Education
This chapter continues a discussion of psychoanalytic education, with the main aim of inspecting the assets and liabilities of various analytic training systems. This may prompt changes to improving analytic training, despite the type of dominant system present. It looks at the traditional Eitingon model (i.e. its shortcomings and corrective changes) and critically reviews the French model of psychoanalytic education. The chapter also discusses the common problems to these two educational systems and proposes solutions.
