“Classroom chameleons” are students who adjust and adapt to the shifting demands of various settings in the school. Those who are able to camouflage their behaviors tend to be more effective in the high school setting since they transform their behaviors in ways that help them fit in and succeed in various venues. This chapter argues that Canford students are more analogous to leopards and explains the reasons why their camouflage is unable to change rapidly to fit a new environment.
