This chapter continues the discussion of the activities of the new government. It describes how the governing procedures of the Spanish Republic began to parallel some of the negative aspects of the Weimar Republic; the characteristics of a Popular Front coalition government and its links to Russian communism; Spanish Communists' efforts to gain new followers; and attempts to re-establish the alliance between Republicans and Socialists. The chapter concludes with an assessment of the Spanish Popular Front.
