This chapter discusses the ideological and social factors that led to the dissemination of the Kabbalah during the twentieth century. It argues that the dissemination of the Kabbalah in the twentieth century can be attributed to an ideology that advocated it. Such ideology was shared by all kabbalistic streams. It adds that another factor contributing to the spread of Kabbalah was the emergence of new exegical approaches to kabbalistic texts that allowed Kabbalah to be more accessible to the masses.
