This chapter discusses Wilfred Owen’s circle of friends, including his friendship with Charles Mayes, one of Arthur Brock’s patients. Through Mayes, Owen learned not just about modern films but also modern people: Owen entered a cultured world where he had more confidence and status while moving in these circles.
