Wilfred Owen

Yale University Press

When Wilfred Owen worked as a tutor to the Léger family, he was invited to their villa in the town of Bagnères-de-Bigorre. Through the Légers, he met the kind of people he had never socialised with in England—violinist, actors, academics, famous beauties, and famous poets. Wilfred later fell in love with the family’s daughter, Nénette, but both mother and daughter had fallen for him.
