Zulu Warriors

John Laband

Yale University Press

Each of the British campaigns fought in South Africa between 1877 and 1879 had an enormous, detrimental impact on the Africans attempting to resist British determination to confederate South Africa under imperial control. Defeat for the amaXhosa, Griqua, Batlhaping, Prieska amaXhosa, Korana, Khoesan, amaZulu, and Bapedi meant the overturning of the old order and their forced integration after the intruders finally conquered them.
