The Soviet Union's alliance with Germany abruptly ended on June 22, 1941 when about 3 million German and allied Axis forces crossed the western Soviet border and attacked the Soviet people. This chapter discusses the Great Patriotic War by the Soviet people against fascist Germany. It also discusses the secret operations of the Comintern and Soviet Intelligence, and their close collaboration during the Great Patriotic War.
