Crisis and Forced Displacement
Crisis and Forced Displacement
This short chapter frames the crisis of forced displacement and provides a transition from understanding the psychological and theological concept of home and the core chapters that offer examples of the functions of home. As seen in this chapter, even displacement events that are quite different in form often lead to similar stages of displacement and possible recovery. The ability of local and national governments or international aid agencies to provide needed assistance along with individual resources will determine whether the crisis of displacement will be short or long term.
